I have lived in Frisco for the last 9 years with my wife, Candice and two children, Jonathan and Claire. Professionally, I am an account manager with W.W. Grainger, Inc managing $2 million worth of business. I also serve as Commander for an Army Reserve unit with locations in Grand Prairie, Marshall, and Paris, TX with an authorized strength of 161 personnel and over $11 million worth of vehicles and equipment. My local volunteer efforts include working with the Frisco VFW, an international fraternal organization and I also support causes such as the DPSOA, Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Heroes for Children, etc.
The City of Frisco is vibrant and dynamic. It has experienced phenomenal growth over the last 9 years. We are entering a new era of growth in a city that will soon have a population in excess of 100,000 residents. Now, more than ever, the city’s leadership team must be made up of members that are involved in the community with a rich mix of experiences outside of the community. The candidate should apply values-based decision making and judgment that takes the short and long term effects into consideration.
As a Soldier and businessman, I have visited 5 continents, more than 25 countries and most of the United States. During that time I have experienced some of the best and worst that national and local governments have to offer. Successful governments have individuals that make strong, effective decisions in a timely manner.
During my tour of duty in Iraq from 2003-2004, I was awarded the Bronze Star. Last month, I was honored as the U.S. Reserve Officers Association Junior Officer of the Year. These awards demonstrate the highest level of service and self sacrifice to our country, and also highlight my ability to make values-based decisions under the harshest of conditions.
I find myself uniquely qualified to share a special blend of leadership and experiences with my community. Adding my skill set to our current City Council will add the leadership and decision making that the city of Frisco needs as we move forward.
